After showing a few friends my latest piece of work they said it looks somewhat Steamy... Iapos;m inclined to agree. Consider this not as a character picture of a foppish hippogryph, but more as an outfit I want to make one day.



To dissect and translate:
Shirt - ivory linen with very long pointed and starched collar
Cravat - ivory linen or silk
double breasted waistcoat - black and gold brocade with red satin lapel facings. Brass buttons
double breasted tail coat - steel velvet or cashmere-rich wool with black and gold brocade accents and lining (to match waistcoat). Brass buttons.
Fall front trousers - grey striped wool with black and gold brocade plackets.
Gaitors (imagine the buckle across the laces on a pair of shoes) - red damask , brocade or linen with black and gold brocade to match other elements. Large black and red jewelled fake buckles on front.

All fine red trim would be Russia braid or cotton cord. Topped off with a simple brass-knob walking cane with a dark wood shaft.

I could make all of this, but it would take me a long time.
